Dr. Karen MacKenzie
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, Dr MacKenzie went on to receive her Medical Degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her surgical training was preformed at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Here, Dr MacKenzie honed her surgical skills in the surgical management of the obese patient. In the year following her formal training, Dr. MacKenzie joined a Bariatric Surgery only practice. Here, Dr. MacKenzie was able to focus on Bariatric surgery, often performing 5-12 Bariatric surgeries a week. Dr. MacKenzie recently relocated to Central California to address this area's growing need for a Bariatric Program Dr. MacKenzie's primary goal is to assist the obese patient with achieving and maintaining a healthier lifestyle with weight loss surgery. Experienced in all forms of Baraitric Surgical options, Dr MacKenzie performs nearly every surgery in the minimally invasive technique.
